Aren't they beautiful? Well, I hope I'll be able to make good use of them. I'm not as good as Chris or Nop at arts and craft. I'll get there. Just need more practise! On a side note... And I know that it's way past Christmas. I made this snowflake Christmas decorations, thanks to the materials Smida Paper provided for me! Isn't it lovely? I gave it to my parents and now it's hanging at the "fan knob" in the dining area.

Buttons
Doesn't the title just make you think of that Pussycat Dolls song? This post is about buttons, literally. Or more like buttons that I bought. Yes, I have to boast about it because they were two big bags for a really good price. I probably won't need to buy anymore buttons for my artwork for the next ten years!

Be enlightened
It's interesting how lunch with elderly neighbours meant coming home with two websites to look up. We'd think that old people would be clueless when it comes to computers, mobile phones and the internet. One guest surprised me by suggesting I look up the following things on Google: Death of Common Sense and The Calf Path. You may have seen/heard of both of those webpages but have you actually read it? I think it's safe to say that majority of internet users these days go straight to Facebook the moment they get online. People get on twitter, formspring, tumblr and occasionally Wikipedia. I know someone who checks emails like a form of OCD. Teenagers play online games (MMORPGs) without blinking their eyes or ever leaving their seat in front of the computer.
I know I'm generalising or in the last case, stereotyping but I don't think anyone can deny such internet users exist. It's not a crime. It's just a pity. A pity that some people never really explored other parts of of the World Wide Web and enjoy it to the fullest. Yea, you can call me a hypocrite for now. I'm a blinkered internet user as well but I plan to change that. I vow to search up any random but awesome stuff that's hidden or barely touched. I'll then introduce my findings to the readers of my blog, if there's even any. So for now, here's two:
The first one is a sardonic yet amusing obituary for an "old friend" of the human race. What the writer says is true. Just in case you're too lazy to check it out. Here's a paragraph that I find is very important. Seriously though, just take your eyes off Farm Ville or Ocean Party for a minute and read it. It's worth your while. I even made it easy for you by putting a link.
"A most reliable sage, he [Common Sense] was credited with cultivating the ability to know when to come in out of the rain, the discovery that the early bird gets the worm and how to take the bitter with the sweet. C.S. also developed sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn), reliable parenting strategies (the adult is in charge, not the kid) and prudent dietary plans (offset eggs and bacon with a little fiber and orange juice)."
The second one is a lovely poem with layers of meaning underneath all that rhyme. It explains why things are done in a certain way, especially when it comes to administrative bodies. It's because "things have always been done that way" and people tend not to change it. If you've read the poem, you'll understand what I'm talking about.

Referenced!
Something really interesting happened. Something unexpected...
It was only this morning, I ripped out my old Post-it notes and threw them into the bin. Okay, that's not the interesting part. I have to tell you the boring bits first. Please bear with me for now. I always scribble down whatever I have to do on my Post-it pad and refer to it from time to time. Think of it as my version of a to-do list. Here's what I wrote:
- Job
- Driving lessons
- Gym ?
- Scholarship!
- iPod
- Delete blog
- TFN
I'm not going to go through each item and explain what each of them means. For one, it's none of your business. But what would interest you is that this morning, or many mornings ago, I had set out to delete my blog. Yes, I was going to delete this blog. The one you're reading right now. Well, technically, for all I know, no one is reading this at all, except me and the occasional friend or two. So I hit up "hotheadedbutcreative.blogspot" on Google. I was going to sign in and remove this blog from the World Wide Web forever. Three years of hard work, my fruits of labour going down the drain... Okay, so maybe not three years. I haven't really been paying attention to it last year in particular. I decided that I would not have the time or energy to post on it anymore.
Now here comes the interesting part: this blog has been referenced! Well, it was a poorly done job but still, it was something, Something that never happened to this poor, lonely, neglected blog before. This blog called SAVIORXXX, copied a picture of Jared Koronkiewicz from my blog and referenced it. I have to hand it to the guy, it was really nice of him to acknowledge his sources.
The strange thing is, after seeing that, I felt a surge of inspiration. Something I haven't felt in a very long time and I usually need those to start typing up my post. Yea, I know that my posts are usually long and boring, pretty painstaking for you to read it. I don't have Queen Chris's wit or Myra's humour or Jess's bluntness to make my audience laugh. What I do know is that I love writing. And I'll keep posting because it simply is my passion. It doesn't matter whether this blog gets the attention of some big shot publisher or not. What matters is that I will be continuing on the wonderful journey of writing, something that I've taken a break from for far too long.
